The following specs improve or clarify H.I. brand vs. NHLA standards: Superior Plus is similar to Superior Prime with the exception of being 5" and wider, limited heartwood on the back, and no requirement of a big-cut. This grade is designed for high-yielding applications that require a high percentage of sapwood on both faces of the board. It is ideal for multiple rip, long, clear 2 face, and clear 1 face cuttings. • 44S+EM(L) • 54S+EM (L) • 64S+EM(L) • 84S+EM (L) • 104S+EM(L) • 124S+EM(L) SKUs: • Sap: Grade Face: 100% sap face after straight-line rip. Back Face: 50% or better sap face after straight-line rip. • Dimensions: Widths 5" and wider, Lengths 6' to 16'. • Minimum Yield: 83-1/3% on the best face, 66-2/3% on the back face. • Manufacturing: Not more than 1/2" of bow, side-bend, wave, or twist in 8' of length. • Splits: Maximum split allowed on each end is equal to the square footage of the board in inches. • Sticker stain: Not allowed on best face. Treated as a defect on the back. • Black Streak: Maximum 1 black streak/sm of the piece on best face, no restriction on back face. • Color: Material from specific regions and mills. • Trim backs: Up to 25% maximum.
